Welcome to the support site

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Pick only selected type of files

Once I have >1000 photos and 10 videos in phones memory finding just video files is annoying.
It would be great to filter the files and pick only videos or selected one.

      Thanks Szymon,

I’ve submitted this query to the Windows Phone developer team as, ideally, this is something that the OS would take care of for me.

Without relying on them, I would be forced to create a new UI just to show videos, which would not only take time on my part, but also limit the “other locations” capability that’s built in to the OS’ file picker.

So, I’m waiting to hear that they improve this in the future. I’m not hopeful it will be better in the immediate future as 8.1 is already pushing out to phones.

Here’s a link to my request on the wpdev uservoice forum: http://wpdev.uservoice.com/forums/110705-dev-platform/suggestions/6340429-file-picker-should-filter-by-specified-extensions
